This indulgent recipe features brioche, a sweet European bread, but you can use challah or French bread. Just add more sugar.

INGREDIENTS - 8 servings
6 Whole Egg(s)
Cup Vanilla Extract
2 Cups Half & Half
1 Cup Whole Milk
1 Pinch Salt
1 Loaf Brioche cut into 1 inch cubes
5 Whole Apple(s) peeled, cored and sliced
6 Tablespoons Butter
THIS RECIPE ALSO CALLS FOR: Brioche, French Bread or Challah
Several hours or the day before you want to serve the bread pudding, place brioche cubes in a 3 qt. baking dish.
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, vanilla extract, milk, half-and-half, salt and 1/4 cup sugar. Pour over bread cubes and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate.
Preheat oven to 350.
Melt butter in a large deep skillet over low heat. Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar over butter and add apple slices. Toss to coat. Then cook over medium-high heat undisturbed until apples soften and butter turns amber. Pour apples and caramel sauce over bread pudding. Bake 45 minutes.
